Bauchi LG Verification: Committee Submits Report

The committee set up by the Bauchi state government to verify issues affecting salaries says it has uploaded data of civil servants from 53 Ministries Department and agencies.

The state deputy governor and Chairman of the committee senator Baba Tela disclosed this while addressing Journalists on the outcome of the state executive council.

Our government house correspondent reports that the state executive council centered its discussions on the report of the committee towards ending the salary squable.

Baba Tela disclosed that 25 thousand civil servants out of 29,683 have already been captured in 53 MDAs of 75 in the state.

According to him, the move is to ensure that the Nominal and payroll is cleared and that the government is not shortchanged.

On the modalities adopted by the state to avoid future reoccurrence of the fraud, Baba Tela said Government is working on an advanced software that will automatically exit Civil servants who retired and transfer his data to pension administration.

The deputy governor appealed for collaboration of civil servants in the state and requested those affected by the exercise to exercise patience as the committees mandate has been given additional two weeks to complete it’s assignment.

On his part, the state attorney general and Commissioner of Justice Yakubu Bello Kirfi said government is compiling names of those involved in the salary infractions.

He said their identities will be revealed upon completion of the exercise and will be prosecuted accordingly.
