Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Thursday felicitated with Major-Major-General Olayemi Lasisi Abidoye (Rtd) on his 68th birthday anniversary.

The state government described him as one of Nigeria’s finest officers whose contributions to peacekeeping missions remains a reference point in global humanitarian circles.

The governor made this known in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye in Ilorin, the state capital.

He commended the retired military officer for bringing honour to the state through his illustrious military career and for his continuous Commitment to Community service and development after retirement.

According to him, “I join the rest of our state, especially the Omu-Aran Community to celebrate retired Major-General Abidoye on this joyous occasion of his 68th birthday anniversary. Hardworking, disciplined, cerebral, and kind-hearted, he has been a man of the people whose retirement is being spent in the service of humanity, especially the Omu-Aran community where he is currently the president of the popular Omu-Aran development association (ODA).”

The statement adds: “on behalf of the people and Government of kwara State, I felicitate the General, his immediate family and the entire Omu-Aran community under his Royal Highness the Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba Abdulraheem Oladele Adeoti on this occasion.”

The governor however prayed to God to grant the Liberian war veteran more rewarding years in good health.”
