New Assistant Inspector General of Police Assume Duty In Zone 5 Command

Zone 5 Police Command Headquarters, Benin City, has announced the deployment of a new Assistant Inspector-General Isaac O. Akinmoyede to Zone 5 Command which comprises of Delta and Edo State Police Commands.

The Zonal Police Spokesman Zone-5 Command, Benin City, Tijani Momoh he has since assumed duty on 19th April, 2021.

Akinmoyede was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on 15th March, 1988 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (Cadet ASP) and has served in many parts of the country which include Lagos and Imo states Force CID; Abuja Force Headquarters, Abuja; Enugu, Maritime Command Headquarters; Lagos, Plateau, Osun, FCT. Others including; Zone 14, Makurdi; Zone 2, Lagos; Zone 6, Calabar; Zone 17, Akure, among others.

He also served as Commmisioner of Police, Force Animal Branch, Force Headquarters, Abuja, Commissioner Plateau State Command, Jos.

He was the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Police Command until his promotion to the rank of an Assistant Inspector- General of Police in 2020.

The new Assistant Inspector-General, AIG is the immediate past AIG in-charge of Zone 17 Command (Ondo and Ekiti States), before his redeployment as AIG Zone 5 Command, Benin.

Akinmoyede has also undergone some professional courses both home and abroad.

These include the Management workshop course at Police Staff College, Jos; Civilian Police in Peace keeping operations, at Tashie, Ghana; Information Technology In Law Enforcement, at New Delhi, India; Intermediate, Senior Command and the Assistant/Deputy Commissioner of Police CID courses all at the Police Staff College, Jos.

Other courses he attended includes Professional Managers’ course organized by the Nigeria Institute of Management, and the Higher Defense Course at the National Defence College, Abuja, where he was awarded the fellow of the defence college.
