The Police Command in Adamawa on Wednesday has apprehended four suspected kidnappers who resides in Garwayel Town of Hong Local Government Area of the state.
The Command Spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, discloed this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Yola.
He said that the suspects, sometime in March, Kidnapped one Yahaya Buba, Sure and Muhammed Bello, all of Konto Town, Gombi Local Government Area of the state.
He added that on April 9 and 11, the police got a complain from “a good Samaritan” who had been getting threat letters from unknown persons.
He said that the hoodlums had requested that the complainant pay a sum of N1 million Ransom for each of the kidnapped person or risked being hijacked as well.
Mr Nguroje expressed that investigation concerning the complain prompted the arrest of Adoneja Dauda, 30, an inhabitant of Hubbare town, Maiha Local Government Area as a the prime suspect.
“Before his arrest, the suspect, exhorted the amount of N150,000 from Alhaji Dauda Hassan, an resident of Barkaji town, Hong Local Government Area with intimidation to kidnapped him”, he expressed.
As indicated by him, the police recovered N86, 000 cash, three single barrel guns, threat letters, cell phones and subscribers Identification Module, SIM, cards from the suspects.
He added that the state Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Alhaji, had directed that the suspects be charged to court on completion of investigation.
