Boko Haram invades military base in Borno LG

Suspected members of the feared Boko Haram sect attacked On Sunday morning Ajiri village in Borno’s Mafa Local Government Area, gaining access to the military base and dislodging troops.

This assault comes just 12 hours after insurgents assaulted Rann, the headquarters of the Kala Balge Local Government Area, and Limankara village in the Gwoza Local Government Area of the state on Saturday.

Ajiri city, about 50 kilometers from Borno Central, is located along the Maiduguri- Mafa- Dikwa road and is home to tens of thousands of people, the majority of whom are Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) who have recently returned to the city to pick up the pieces.

Even though details of the attacks are still sketchy at press time, a senior security source reported insurgent infiltration into the Ajiri military base, Rann, and Limankara communities.

Details will be given later….
