Igbo Chieftain admonishes Christians to seek true peace at Christmas

By Chijioke Kingsley

Eze Igbo of Jos South, Plateau State, Chief Lawrence Onwudinjo, has admonish Christians to pursue peace during Christmas.

Chief Onwudinjo made the call on Thursday while delivering his Christmas message to his subjects.

He said while Christians bother about what to eat and wear during the yuletide, they should also reflect on the virtues of Christ which is the essence of his birth.

“If you are seeking peace you must rely on the kind of peace that Christ brings.

“A lot of hearts are restless because Christmas is here. A lot of hearts do not have peace because we are thinking of how Christmas will be.

“The kind of peace that the world does not understand is the kind of peace that a child of God will have. When everything around us is war, we should look inside and find peace in Christ.

“When you seek peace from Christ and when you place those worries in God’s hand, He will grant you the peace that is above human comprehension”, he said.

The Igbo Chieftain said the kind of peace that God gives is such that one’s heart is at rest when others were anxious of what next to do.

He encouraged Christians to live a just life and do away with sinful life that could create a barrier to one’s righteousness.

According to him, the Lord God will reward everyone based on his/her deeds.

However, as we approach the new year, he called on politicians not use the youths as thugs to achieve their political ambitions.

“The youths are leaders of tomorrow, we should invest in them positively, rather than use them as tools to kill one another”, Chief Onwudinjo said.
