Babagana Umara Zulum, the Governor of Borno State, has instructed that land be allocated for the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board’s (JAMB) computer-based test center in Maiduguri.
When Zulum met with the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, at the Government House’s Council Chamber on Thursday, he gave the directive.
The Governor also ordered the Borno State Geographic Information Service (BOGIS) to grant a Certificate of Occupancy for the property in Maiduguri, which now houses the Board’s Zonal and State offices.
Zulum also authorized the state’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation to finance all interested Borno indigenes who choose to study in other areas of the country.
This action, according to the Governor, is intended to fill in the gaps in merit and catchment area quotas in numerous Federal Government tertiary institutions across the country that are intended for Borno residents.
