How 34 Tarabans fought for government position

Bashir Mohammed, a member of the Taraba State House of Assembly representing the Nguroje seat, has claimed that 34 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) desired the Taraba State cabinet slot.

Mohammed stated this on Sunday in Jalingo during the reception of Engineer Muazu Magaji Sambo, Minister of State for Works and Housing.

He claimed that the party’s problem in the state was self-interest.

He eloquently urged the Minister to seize control of the State’s political party.

Barrister Ibrahim El-Sudi, the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said Sambo’s arrival was a good sign for Taraba and asked Tarabans to thank God for the gift of such an experienced hand.

Also, a top notch of the party, Engineer Ahmed Yusuf advised APC stakeholders to unite in the interest of the party.

Stressing that his appointment was divine as he did not lobby for the ministerial position, he beckoned on those calling on him to aspire for the number one position of the State, to as a matter of urgency, desist.

He stating that “I am not interested in becoming governor but to serve the State in my capacity as Minister. ”

He said “I did not come to look for governor. Mine is to serve and go for further studies. I never knew I would be a Minister. It is God that gives power. Sometimes he gives you even if you did not look for it.”
