Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State signed the state’s N147.2 billion Appropriation Bill into law yesterday.
As a result of this event, the state’s budget cycle has been preserved from January to December, as the law takes effect today, January 1, 2022.
Ikpeazu presented the “Budget of Recovery via Industrialization and Inclusive Growth” to the House of Assembly on December 14, 2021, according to LEADERSHIP Weekend.
When he presented the bill on the House floor, he promised members that the government would be steadfast in implementing the budget for the state’s peace, order, and welfare.
He thanked the speaker and members of the House of Representatives for their patriotism and quick study and passage of the law.

The governor tasked agencies of government with specific obligations in the implementation of the budget to take their assignments very seriously.
He challenged the revenue earning agencies to redouble their efforts and carry out their responsibilities with greater transparency and deeper sense of patriotism.
