On Friday, the Kwara State Fire Service rescued two boys, Damilare, 12, and Kamaldeen, 14, from the Asa River at Laola Salasi Street, Mubo area, Ilorin.
The event occurred about 16:36 hours (04:36 p.m.) on Thursday evening, when one Alhaji Eleja summoned fire department officers to the scene.
The two fatalities (Kamaldeen and Damilare) were rescued dead from the river by firemen, according to the DAILY POST.
The fatalities are from the Ile-laru complex in Ilorin’s Sabo-line neighborhood. They went swimming with their coworkers at Asa-River before two of them perished.
Before leaving the scene of the tragedy, their bodies were handed over to their father, Alhaji Jamiu.

The Director, Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, advised citizens, particularly parents and teachers to keep monitoring their children’s movement, especially during this holiday period in order to avoid such terrible occurrences.
