Six die in road crash in Ebonyi, marking city’s first 2022 crash

A horrific vehicle accident between a truck and a Toyota Sienna car on the Enugu-Abakaliki Highway claimed the lives of six people on Saturday.

The tragedy occurred a few meters from Nkalagu Junction in Ebonyi State’s Ishielu Local Government Area.

When the two collided, the truck was coming from Abakiliki and the Sienna, which had roughly seven occupants, was traveling to Abakiliki from Enugu.

While the rescue attempt was still underway, our journalist who was on the scene of the accident observed that several passengers were still stuck inside the bus.

Police officers and sympathizers used an axe to try to free the trapped victims of the automobiles so they could receive medical help.
