Northern Christian Clergies felicitate with Muslims on Islamic new year

..Urges ceaseless prayer for peace stability

Some northern Nigeria Christians clerics have facilitated with Muslims around the world over the new Islamic year, (hijrah 1445) which start from today.

Pastor Yohanna Buru, the General overseer of Christ evangelical and life intervention church kaduna, and other Christian leaders in the region felicitated with Muslims all over the world over the coming of the new year calendar.

The group stressed the need for Federal government to be declaring every first day in the month of muharram as public holiday in view of the importance of the year to the entire Muslim ummah, so as to . enable the faithfuls celebrate the day with joy and happiness.

He equally urged Muslim faithful to intensify prayers to ensure peaceful coexistence, love and good neighbourliness for peace and unity in the country and West Africa region at large.

Buru made the calls when he visited some Muslims scholars that are his friends in Kaduna with the aims of strengthening Christian and Muslims relationship in the state.

According to him, it has become customary for him to send thousands of peace messages through his Facebook page and social media to his Muslim friends and relations on every Islamic new year ,so as to promote better understanding among different faith base organization in the country.

“The celebration of the day provide opportunities for Christians to extend good message of promoting interreligious tolerance and forgiveness.

He called on the Muslim community to use the occasion to seek Allah’s forgiveness, and pray for His intervention to salvage the nation from the lingering security challenges and improvement in the general wellbeing and progress of the state and the country in general.

Buru enjoined northern Nigeria citizens to continue to live in harmony with one another to support Government’s efforts in promoting peace and unity in the country

“Nigerians must show tolerance, forgiveness and help Government in spreading the message of peace and unity among the citizenry and also support the government in tackling banditry, terrorism, kidnapping and all forms of ethno-religious, political and regional differences that has bedeviled the country.
“We all believe in Holy Bible and Qur’an, therefore, we congratulate the Muslim Umma round the world,” he said.

Similarly, Pastor Joel zigo of the same ministry called on citizens in Southern Kaduna to live in peace and harmony with one another.

He called on citizens to support the government with prayers to succeed in changing lives better for it’s citizens

Speaking also, Pastor Joshua Ahmed appealed to Muslims to be more dedicative in prayers for God to bring an end to the security challenge bedevilling peace stability in the country

One of the Muslim leader at Barnawa, Mallam Gambo Barnawa, said the celebration of the new Islamic year is not only meant for Muslims, but to mankind.

He thanked the Christian leaders for felicitating with Muslim faithful for the new year.

It will be recalled that the first lunar month of the New Islamic Year, Muharram commences on Saturday, July 30, 2022.
