Fresh push by soldiers of Operation Hadin Kai has paid off with the elimination of many Boko Haram fighters in a failed ambush.
It was gathered that the troops of 21 Armoured Brigade Bama thwarted the ambush during a fighting patrol between Kumshe and Banki.
An Intelligence Sources, told Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insuegency Expert and Security Analyst that the incident occured in the early hours of Tuesday.
The sources said that “the terrorists detonated Improvised Explosive Device and followed with continuous gun shots which was immediately repelled by the gallant troops.
The special forces were said to have repelled the attack killing the many insurgents with no casualty on the side of the military.
One hilux of the military was destroyed while some soldiers who sustained wounds during the encounter were being treated at the Brigade Headquarters in Bama.
